Genius Project???
I re-read my last/first post and even I have to admit that I didn't do a good job explaining my project. First of all in my class we can it the "Genius Project". Sounds like something from Apple huh? So anyway you get to pick you own topic and make a project about it. Awesome but a lot of work. Some of the unique aspects are that you get to present it in anyway you want and make you own due date. Now you're probably wondering who is my teacher and when can you transfer into her class? This project is such a change from the usual. We get to take our passions and represent it it whatever way we seem best. Even thought this project sounds like heaven to a high school student, it has it cons. It hard to know where to start when you don't have a criteria list. "Should I do this?" is a question that comes up a lot because when you have free reign on something, you imagination tends to run wild. Well mine did. Another con is coming up with an idea. There are so many amazing topics you could pick but when it comes time to, your mind runs a blank. But when you get that perfect idea (which mine is) magic WILL happen.
Some of the other ideas for the Genius Project in my class are awesome. Like "the afterlife" and the "Bermuda triangle". How cool are those. This project calls for expanding your knowledge. It's not just to report the facts on a concrete subject but to put your own opinions and theories into the idea. Make it your own. Even though that sounds super corny it is ultimately the main focus of this project.
I'm so excited that my teacher introduced this project to me because let's face it, English can be boring. With all Shakespeare stories I can barely understand to the sappy poems about nature you need a little excitement. Anyways back to my super awesome project, I have almost finished all the planning for it. I will post the finer details to it next and start the whole project this Monday. Stressed but excited.
Wish me luck!
